Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been covered with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.
Officers say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The liquid had been drawn in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then located multiple other smeared cars and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Police report initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely human blood.
"Currently there is no clue as to where it came from; investigators are not yet informed of any harm in connection with the event," they added.
City officials stated they were working "to solve the incident" and have requested to the public for tips.
An important official stated the incident rendered him stunned and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This event affects the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at residents of foreign heritage in February 2020.
